What is love?

It stopped hurting
when I put myself first.

Love makes you do crazy things. It makes you vulnerable just as it makes you strong. Sometimes it makes you put yourself last and that is one of the biggest mistakes you can make. When you forget yourself just to remember someone else!

Scientifically speaking when you’re in love, your brain releases certain chemicals that make you think and act differently. Love is amazing and beautiful, it’s just that sometimes people aren’t.

Love isn’t supposed to be forced. It’s supposed to come naturally. It’s supposed to fill you up. Love is supposed to help you grow not make you shrink. It’s supposed to make you confident not make you want to hide. It’s supposed to make you happy, not give you panic attacks. It’s supposed to be understanding not make you feel oppressed. It’s supposed to be filled with comfort not with anxiety. Love is supposed to set you free, not be the reason for your captivation.

Love is when all your wounds are filled, and you’re at ease with yourself and the world. It’s when everything around you starts making sense. And this kind of love doesn’t have to come to you from other people… it can come to you from you.

  1. Crazy things, yes and you can get so taken advantage of. Maybe it’s believing oneself to be unlovable makes it so, but how do you learn? To love yourself, when experience tells you that you are not?

    1. That’s a very tricky question. I think you learn to love yourself when you start forgiving yourself . When you understand that your life is precious and beautiful and it should be taken care of. No one is going to come and love you the way you want them to love you. That’s something you’ll have to do on your own ❤
